Lentil & Meat Stew Print
4 Tbsp butter
1/2 lb beef, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
2 medium sized onions, chopped
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 small hot pepper, finely chopped
1 cup lentils, rinsed
6 cups water
4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced into cubes
4 medium tomatoes, chopped
1 & 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp turmeric

Melt butter in a saucepan and saute beef for 5 minutes. Add onions, garlic and hot pepper, stir-fry for another 10 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients, cook over medium heat until meat and lentils are well done, adding more water if necessary. Serve hot with cooked rice.
