Oriental Noodle & Rice Pilaf Print
Package instant Chinese noodle soup, any flavor
2 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp sesame oil
1 cup long grain rice
2 & 3/4 cups chicken broth
2 tsp soy sauce
1 tin (227 mL) water chestnuts, chopped
1/4 cup whole flaxseed
1 green onion, sliced

Remove flavor packet from noodles. Crush noodle sin package.
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Add sesame oil. Add rice and noodles.
Stir until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.
Stir in broth, flavor packet and soy sauce.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until broth is absorbed and rice is tender.
Stir in water chestnuts, flaxseed and green onion.

Makes 7 (3/4 cup) servings.
